Our Story
Sharpe Architecture is a RIBA Chartered practice based in Tunbridge Wells, led by Frances and Simon Sharpe. Founded in 2019 and shaped by experience in award-winning studios across London and the South East, we create thoughtful, modern homes and community spaces across Kent and Sussex.
Our mission is to produce architecture rich in character, kind to the planet and built to last.

Architect & Director
BA(Hons) dipArch MA ARBFrances founded SHARPE Architecture in 2019 after gaining valuable experience at award-winning practices such as Allies and Morrison, Kaner Olette Architects, and Richard Hopkinson Architects. Her diverse portfolio includes a range of projects, from house extensions to working as part of the masterplanning team for the London 2012 Olympics.
Frances is particularly passionate about residential and community architecture. She thrives on collaborating closely with clients to create playful and imaginative designs that break from the norm. Her approach is both creative and practical, ensuring that each project is tailored to the client's needs.

Architect & Director
BA(Hons) MArch ARB RIBA
Simon joined SHARPE Architecture in 2022, bringing with him extensive experience from his previous role as Senior Associate at the award-winning practice Theis + Khan Architects. Prior to this, he worked at award-winning practices such as Kaner Olette Architects and Ayre Chamberlain Gaunt.With a passion for sustainability and new building technologies, Simon has worked across various sectors, including high-end residential houses, listed buildings, and community projects. He has been involved in a range of projects, including being the Project Architect on the Architects' Journal retrofit award-winning Bat and Ball Station and community projects such as the RIBA South East award-winning Peacehaven Gateway building, which also won the Architects' Journal retrofit award.

Senior Architect
BA(Hons) dipArch MA ARBDan joined SHARPE Architecture in 2025, bringing with him a broad range of experience gained at several award-winning practices, including Studio Sam Causer, Theis + Khan, Dixon Jones, and BGS Architects.
His portfolio spans a variety of project types and scales — from bespoke residential homes and listed building restorations to large mixed-use developments such as Knightsbridge Gate. Dan has also contributed to a number of higher education projects, including the Alan Walters Building at the University of Birmingham, which received the AJ Higher Education Project of the Year Award in 2017.
Dan has a holistic, pragmatic and methodical approach to architecture and enjoys working through the technical challenges that working with existing buildings brings, especially in the design of interventions within sensitive, historical contexts.
